I recently got into wood carving so I thought I'd give this knife a try, really good for larger cuts, but definitely needs sharpened out of the box, although I will say that all knives I've ever purchased have needed sharpening as soon as I got them. That being said a few strokes on the strop and it's a nice little knife.
